LCHAA

The Lemuel Chenoweth Heritage and Arts Association is now forming.  More information will be forthcoming as our board is formed. Right now an outstanding group of volunteers and community members are helping achieve one of the main goals of the LCHAA to reopen The Lemuel Chenoweth House as a historic treasure available to the public – not just in Beverly, but online worldwide. West Virginia has long suffered from negative stereotypes and the genius and mastery of Lemuel Chenoweth stands as a testament to the self-reliant and honest folks that inhabit these hills.  We can’t wait to tell his story!

The mission of the newly formed Lemuel Chenoweth Heritage and Arts Association: To preserve, interpret, and share, the history of bridge builder, architect, and folk hero Lemuel Chenoweth as he lived in the West(ern) Virginia Frontier before, during, and after, the Civil War, and to promote the study and appreciation of covered bridges, frontier life, folk architecture, and the arts.
